Alec Wolff MKV R32 - Dubkultur: Issue 1, March/April 2009

The only thing better than driving off the lot with a brand new Golf R32 is driving it straight to the shop to install a surfeit of performance parts. Alec Wolff is not in the game to do things in moderation and he certainly was not going to start with his new R32. Inspired by talent and practice in aggressive stunt driving, he wanted this car to put down some serious power. While most people would be satisfied with Volkswagens 250hp hatchback, Alec wanted more. So, alongside his brother Adam and the rest of the Wolfcars team - he got right to work.

The performance revamp began with the essentials. The R was treated to a set of VF engineering engine and transmission mounts, a Milltek exhaust system, HPA intake manifold, and Coolingmist water methanol injection kit. Add to that a ZEX 100 shot nitrous kit (for those days he is running late to work), and you have yourself one dominant Dub. Now, for those of you trying to figure out how much power this Golf is producing, hold that thought. Alec is waiting for a custom turbo kit. With it he expects to tear the asphalt right out of the ground and instill fear in his competition.

To help put all that power to the ground, Alec called up HPA for a stage 2 DSG transmission upgrade and a Haldex upgrade to evenly distribute power to each wheel. In order to control the power in the corners, he added a set of Vogtland coilovers and H&R front and rear sway bars. After a few life threatening moments behind the wheel, Alec decided to include a massive set of Brembo 6 piston brakes. When you drive as aggressive as he does stopping power means the difference between buying new tires or a whole new car.

Since Alec does not let just anyone jump in to the drivers seat, he added some small details to the exterior for others to enjoy. He mounted very recognizable rollers, in the shape of Diamond Black BBS RE Forged wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza rubber, shaved side markers for a cleaner euro look, and painted the front and rear valance compliment his monochromatic scheme. One of the cars most attractive external feaures is the authentic Audi S6 LED driving lights on the lower valance. This car looks just as stunning sitting in a parking lot as it does at the track. Knowing Alec, this car is far from done. With a little patience and a few more trips to the sperm bank we can not wait to see what is in store for this Mk5 in the near future.

Alec is no stranger to speed. He has owned a tastefully tuned B7 Audi A4 and a Porsche 951 before purchasing his Mk5. He loves driving fast, and has always had a car to help him with his need for speed ambition. This car mogul has several other hobbies to occupy his time. He is also a big music fan, and plays a few instruments as well. Some of his favorite musical influences include Guns N Roses and Iron Maiden, among others. When Alec is not underneath the hood of his car or making music, he is working on making his business prosper. This dedicated entrepreneur said a perfect day would be to wake up and learn that Bill Gates has donated all his money to me. Alec says he would invest it all into his business.
